Freedom Refuge Youth Ministry

Freedom Refuge Youth Ministry

Pastor Patrick Rainey

Freedom Refuge exists to connect students with God and the reality of his infinite love for them. It is our desire to see students become fully embraced by God’s grace and then share that grace and love in their world.

Freedom Refuge hosts a Wednesday night Praise & Worship for Middle School & High School students @ 6:00 PM in our youth building…what we like to call “The Fuge.”

The heartbeat of Freedom Refuge is one of gathering to grow closer to Jesus and scattering to those around us to show others the Jesus we love. Throughout the year we do this in various ways.

The Landing – Celebrate Recovery for Students

The Landing Freedom Church (click for more information) is a Christ-centered, healing-focused ministry designed specifically for middle and high school students.  The Landing meets on Thursdays @ 6:30 PM, beginning January 22, 2026.  As part of the Celebrate Recovery family, we provide a safe, structured place for teens to explore their hurts, habits, and hang-ups while discovering hope, freedom, and identity in Jesus Christ.
We follow the Biblical 12 Steps and the 8 Recovery Principles that guide Celebrate Recovery worldwide. Through teaching, discussion, worship, and mentoring, students learn how to navigate life’s challenges with honesty, courage, and God’s truth.
At The Landing Freedom Church, we believe:
•Everyone has struggles, and no one has to face them alone.
•Authenticity matters; we create a judgment-free space for honest conversations.
•Healing is possible through Christ and a healthy community.
•Freedom comes from walking in truth, not perfection.
•God has a purpose for every student, no matter their story.

Summer mission trips are at the core of Freedom Refuge values, because we believe in serving like Jesus serves; selflessly. Our youth have served communities in Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia in various ways.

One of our global partnerships for missions is World Help– we as a youth group sponsor children, monthly, with our donations.

We also have local serve days where the teens, especially throughout the summer time, come in and serve at Cafe Central, the soup kitchen that is housed here at Freedom Church. We love to serve our community as a youth group!

Lake days, Lock-ins, Fall Retreats, and Bible Study nights at Pastor Patrick’s house are just some of the fun activities we get to have throughout the year here at Freedom Refuge.
