Join the Journey!
In Act 16:3 we read, “Paul wanted to take him on the journey…” and so, he did. Paul walked alongside Timothy and poured his life and wisdom into him, loving him and watching him grow into a mature believer that he felt confidence to leave Timothy as the pastor of the church they had planted in Ephesus.
Young people need mentors. They are looking for purpose, direction, and a safe place to grow. That is at the heart of our Journey Student Mentorship Ministry. We desire to connect our young people with those who will help them learn how to live and serve faithfully in church and life by building meaningful relationships with them and discipling them along the journey. This is in no way meant to be a replacement for parental guidance or authority, but a further reinforcement of the love of Jesus in the lives of all of our teens.
Mentors
To become a Journey Mentor, there is an application process that will help us discover the best mentor for each youth participant. The security and safety of our participants is of utmost importance, so there is also a required background check. Once approved to be a mentor, there is E3 Mentor Training that will provide mentors the foundation to Engage (the heart), Equip (with God’s Word), and Empower (for living) their youth mentee.
Youth Participants (Mentees)
Each youth participant will also go through an application process, including parental permission, for participation. We cannot emphasize enough that this ministry is another partnership with families to help each youth along their journey of faith and discipleship…not a replacement.
