Last week, Pastor Tim focused on listening. This week, he focuses on the importance of “active listening.” In other words, do something with what you are hearing. Don’t merely walk away from it and forget, deceiving yourself.
There is a time to speak. There is a time to listen. Jesus was an excellent example in knowing the difference. Are you listening? Or, are you so busy convincing others you are right…or righteous. Reflecting on James 1, Pastor Tim helps us see the importance of listening in the midst of our lives so
Why? We often ask the question as it relates to our circumstances. More often than not, we look for answers in all the wrong places. Pastor Tim encourages us to turn to the truth of the Bible to find the answers we seek. Who is Jesus? The answer.
Jesus is… We can fill that blank with many descriptive words and phrases. Most importantly, though, is the fact that Jesus is the power of the gospel. It is His life, in us, that empower change…that transformation that is not possible apart from His intervention in our lives.
The question of suffering is not one to be dismissed or discouraged. It is good and right to seek answers in the midst of suffering and loss. Pastor Tim handles some of the toughest questions about suffering, today, and the answers may surprise you.
